Over twenty-five years ago, Douglas Sharratt had a dream. At the time it was a small dream… he wanted a processor made by one company to talk to a Modbus device made by a different company. So, he went into his garage and came out with a chip that made it possible. Today the multi-million-dollar company of ProSoft Technology is still selling that Modbus Communication Module, along with over 400 other communication solutions.

ProSoft products can be found in nearly every industry. ProSoft Technology now has over 400 products supporting more than 60 different industrial computer languages. Our goal is to support our customers from pre-sales through the entire life cycle of the application. With 500 distributors and Regional Offices in Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and North America, ProSoft Technology can provide quality products and technical support to customers worldwide.

ProSoft Technology specialises in the development of industrial communication solutions for automation, control, and wireless applications. Our primary focus is to provide a connectivity interface that links dissimilar automation networks as seamlessly as if they were all from the same supplier. Essentially, Rockwell ProSoft Technology products act as an interpreter so data can flow easily between machines that speak different languages. ProSoft Technology products include standalone communication to link large automation suppliers and rugged industrial wireless solutions.

Prosoft's products and solutions include:

  • In-chassis modules
  • Stand-alone gateways
  • Wireless solutions
  • Secure Remote Access
  • In-chassis modules allow Rockwell Automation® processors to interface easily with devices on various protocols. Rockwell Automation ProSoft in-chassis solutions help connect controllers to disparate devices, bringing IIoT data directly into a Rockwell Automation® control system. Solutions include in-chassis flow computers that can be used in place of standalone units; supported protocols include PROFIBUS and Modbus. Linux Development Modules are available for applications requiring a custom algorithm.

  • Stand-alone gateways allow your controllers to connect to many different protocols. ProSoft’s Ethernet and serial gateways provide reliable connections between industrial protocols. Two-port gateways are available for applications requiring two subnets. Supported protocols include EtherNet/IP, Modbus Serial, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, and Siemens Industrial Ethernet.

  • Wireless solutions optimised for AGVs, bottle filling machines, overhead conveyors and more… ProSoft’s wireless solutions are designed for industrial environments. Their reliability makes them ideal for high-performance applications. RLX2 wireless radios’ features include fast roaming for mobile applications, and Class 1 EtherNet/IP™ communication for CIP Safety applications.

  • Secure Remote Access allows you to get the information you need when you need it! Rockwell ProSoft remote connectivity solutions provides a secure way to monitor and troubleshoot equipment from anywhere at any time. Users can access cellular and wired gateways via the secure service ProSoft Connect. Features include Single Sign-On and Virtual Lockout-Tagout.

Doug Sharratt approached & signed Routeco as an authorised distributor over 20 years, and the relationship between our two companies has grown and strengthened over the years. Routeco is now the premium partner in Europe for ProSoft Technology, and we look forward to working with them for the next 20 years and beyond.
